Guardian Media Group has appointed Richard Eyre as a non-executive director of the company.
Richard Eyre's career spans nearly 30 years in the media business, on both the agency and client sides in radio, broadcast television and independent television production.
SMG and Unilever have announced a landmark ?1m+ cross-platform media deal that will see the FMCG giant advertising its products across all of SMG?s media ? Scottish TV, Grampian TV, Virgin Radio, Pearl & Dean and Primesight.
The deal includes an innovative content element that will allow Unilever to trade certain SMG television content for airtime in overseas territories. GWR Group has announced significant audience increases in its flagship national station, Classic FM. In RAJAR Quarter 1 2004 figures released today, Classic FM increased its weekly audience by 334,000 to 6.54 million (Q4 2003: 6.21 million). The station's overall market share improved from 4.3% in Q4 2003 to 4.5% in Q1 2004, and its national share of commercial listening rose from 9.5% to 10%.
