New Head of Music for 97.3 Forth One and 1548 Forth 2

Radio Forth has appointed Sam Jackson as new Head of Music for both 97.3 Forth One and 1548 FORTH2.

Sam, who joined Radio Forth in September 2002, replaces the late Tom Wilson, who died suddenly in March.

A former journalist, Sam?s radio career started back in 1989 and she?s been broadcasting since 1997. She has worked at radio stations across the UK, including TFM in Middlesborough, 2CR FM in Bournemouth, Beacon FM, Wolverhampton and Kingdom FM in Fife.

At the Edinburgh station Sam has worked as a presenter on the breakfast, drivetime and mid-morning shows and now presents the late night show Sunday to Thursday and on Saturday afternoons.

She said: ?I am delighted to be appointed to this important role and my aim is to help maintain Radio Forth’s position as number one in the market place and give our listeners more of what they want to hear…great music.?

Radio Forth programme director, Nik (corr) Goodman, told RadioMad.net: ?Sam has a natural ear for good music and a great talent for producing first class radio shows. Her skills as a music programmer will enhance the sound of both our AM and FM stations.

?I am very pleased that we have been able to fill this vital position internally and it underlines the strength and quality of the people we have working at Radio Forth.?
