UKRD tunes into Norwich for new licence bid

UKRD has announced that it is to bid for the new radio licence for Norwich, to be advertised soon by the broadcasting regulator Ofcom.

The company, which owns and operates KL.FM 96.7 in West Norfolk, is backing Norwich Broadcasting Limited, which will partner with leading figures from the community in Norwich.

The station’s format is yet to be decided – and Norwich Broadcasting is conducting a large-scale research survey to determine what it should be. The group is also asking people in the city for their views, via its website norwichdecides.co.uk.

The new FM radio licence will be advertised by Ofcom towards the end of 2004, covering Norwich and the surrounding area.
