Radio Clyde Helps The Tsunami Appeal

Radio Clyde joins the nation in raising funds for the victims of the Tsunami disaster.

Radio Clyde called on the generosity of their listeners during Saturday?s Superscoreboard Live! to raise the fantastic sum of ?23,500 in only a few short hours.

Jason Miller from Central Car Auctions scooped the hospitality box donated by T Mobile for Saturday?s Old Firm match for an unbelievable ?8500 and gave the box straight back to the auction so it could continue to make money. The lucky winner second time around was Lloyd Gailey from Easywaste Solutions who got to take 10 friends to the game by bidding ?5500.

Football fan Gary Smith from Bullet Express bid ?2500 for his son to be the mascot at Celtic Park during the old firm game on Sunday 9th. Paul Kavanagh of CK Heating bid an astonishing ?7000 to be the mascot at the Rangers v Livingston game at the end of the month.

Radio Clyde?s Managing Director, Paul Cooney, said;

? We have the most big-hearted listeners in Scotland and time and time again we are astonished by their generosity. To have raised that amount of money in only a few short hours is incredible and it just goes to show that the plight of the people affected by the Tsunami has touched the hearts of all of us?

Radio Clyde will be taking part in Radio Aid to help victims of the Tsunami disaster. The venture is the first joint radio fundraising campaign since the start of commercial radio 31 years ago.
