The Kelvin MacKenzie-fronted Wireless Group have announced plans for Edinburgh’s new talk station to be the first of many new radio stations around the UK using the new brand name AllTalk fm.
It was announced in January, just a month after the licence award, that AllTalk fm will be managed by Calum Macaulay, the successful marketing boss behind the launch of TalkSport. The Wireless Group have also confirmed it will be pitching against the likes of Emap?s Kerrang! and GMG’s smooth fm radio brand for the FM licence covering Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
Currently, the group are awaiting to see if they can launch AllTalk fm in Manchester in 2006. A decision on that licence award is expected to be announced by Ofcom on May 9th.
