Taunton is soon to have a dedicated local radio station broadcasting in the area. The first broadcast will be a trial for 2-weeks but this marks the beginning of Taunton Local Radio?s campaign to win a permanent license for Taunton and the
surrounding area.
To mark the start of TLR, they have this week launched a new website, full of information about the station plans and ways for local people to get involved.
Taunton Local Radio will officially start broadcasting on Monday 20th February from the B&Q superstore, Heron Gate, Taunton.
?We want people to interact with the station and really feel a part of it.? Said Gavin Harrison Sales and Marketing Manager for Laser Broadcasting Ltd ?The purpose of staging this broadcast is to get feedback from the local area. We want people to tell us what they would like to hear on their local radio station?.
The trial broadcast will take place between Monday 20th February and Sunday 5th March 2006. At present a frequency has not been assigned from OFCOM but further details will be published closer to the start of the broadcast. Taunton Local Radio will continue working on its plans and preparation for the broadcast across the coming weeks.
