Rutland win Nations and Regions Award

Rutland Radio have claimed the hat-trick for the Radio Academy Nations and Regions Awards for the East Midlands.

The award was presented by Chrysalis’s Chief Executive Phil Riley at last night’s “In conversation with…” Radio Academy event at Leicester College.

As a result, Lincs FM Group’s Rutland Radio is given automatic entry as finalists into the small station category in the national Sony Radio Academy Awards, to be held later this year. Rutland Radio have been the sole Gold winners since the launch of the awards in 2003/4.

The South and South East Nations and Regions Award is due to be presented tonight at the “In conversation with Jamie Theakston” event in London. TLRC’s Isle of Wight Radio have twice been the previous winners of the award in this region.
