Taunton Local Radio (TLR) has launched its trial broadcast for Taunton. TLR is currently broadcasting live every day on 87.7FM from studios based at the B&Q superstore in Heron Gate Retail Park. The station is on air until 5th March 2006
The trial broadcast started at 10:30 on Monday morning with the official opening of the station by His Worshipful the Mayor Councillor Richard Lees at 2:00 PM.
The station aims to offer a service of information, news and entertainment completely independent of any existing media outlet in the county.
Although under its short term ?restricted service license? TLR will not be able to completely demonstrate how its proposed full-time service will sound, TLR hopes to be able to give its listeners a flavour of the future for radio in Taunton. We will be out and about in the Town reporting live and interviewing the people of Taunton.
