Ofcom advertise Oxford licence

Ofcom have today invited applications for a licence to provide an FM commercial radio service to cover Oxford and South Oxfordshire.

RadioToday.co.uk currently know of two groups who will be applying for the licence – Ridge FM (backed by Milestone Radio Group) and More FM who have ran two RSL trail services and are working with CN Group to apply for the licence.

Ofcom estimates that this licence could achieve coverage of an area with an adult (aged 15+) population of around 300,000. The exact coverage will be determined by the location of the transmission site and other technical characteristics.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is 3.00 p.m. on Friday 9 June 2006. A non-refundable fee of ?5,000 will be payable for each application submitted.
