GCap Media national station Classic FM is the latest radio station to launch a record label.

Classic FM Presents? will be produced in association with Sony BMG, with whom the station has already worked with in releasing albums in the past, including the most recent release Classic FM At The Movies. Classic FM Presents? will showcase young unsigned British classical artists. The label?s first signing is the British tenor Alfie Boe, whose debut album of tenor arias will be released in early September.

The station has also forged a series of partnerships within the orchestral world, working closely with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and Welsh National Opera.

Speaking about the new venture, Classic FM Station Manager Darren Henley said: ?We?re on a mission to uncover major unsigned British talent ? Alfie Boe is the first of these stars for the future.?

Alfie Boe added: ?This is the next logical step in my career. I am so excited to be working with the team at Classic FM and Sony BMG on this, my debut album?.
