New appointments at UTV Radio

UTV Radio has bolstered the programme management team for its local stations in England, Scotland and Wales with a number of external appointments and internal promotions.

Simon Walkington has been promoted to the position of deputy group programme director (ILR) and Steve Barnes and Kevin Howard have been promoted to senior programmer roles with regional responsibilities for the Midlands and South Wales, respectively. The group is advertising for a further senior programmer with regional responsibility for it?s eight northern area stations.

Andy Miles, based in Swansea, is the group?s first head of music with responsibility for music research, playlist co-ordination and developing the group?s relationship with the music industry.

In addition, Chris Buckley moves from Tindle Radio to take up the position of programme controller at UTV Radio?s Chesterfield based station, Peak FM.
