GMG appoints interactive boss

As part of a resructure within Guardian Media Group Radio's online services, former Sponsorship and Promotions Manager for Smooth FM northwest Nicola Cameron has been appointed to lead the development of the company’s new Interactive Media Department .

Nicola will be responsible for maximising and building interactive revenue streams from services such as mobile phone texting, microsites, and interactive games. She will also be responsible for building revenues from CRM, IVR and will manage the relevant supplier contracts, working alongside our national and regional sponsorship and promotions teams.

The restructure will see the new department expand from seven to nine people including two newly created roles. Phill Clark has been promoted from Web Developer to Senior Designer and Developer. Lynn Proudfoot previously NTR Project Planner has been promoted to Senior Project Planner to help manage the demand of workflow and revenues. In addition, Lorna Dargavel has been promoted from Web Developer to Interactive Content Producer and will be responsible for the non-commercial content of all websites reporting directly into Group Programme Director John Simons.

The restructure comes at a time when Guardian Media Group Radio are experiencing increased revenue growth as it continues to offer integrated solutions to clients harnessing the power of radio, online and mobile.

The team will be based across Real Radio in Yorkshire and smooth fm in London, reporting to Julian Carter, Group Director of Sales.

Julian Carter said: “Clients want to have more control over content, and this department will help them reach listeners of the Real Radio and smooth fm brands through means other than traditional spot advertising. I have not doubt that the recent re-structure, new appointments and promotions will prove to be a great success.”
