New Presenters at BBC London

BBC London 94.9FM has added two new additions to its late night schedule. Sony Award-winner Big George joins BBC London 94.9 through the night, Monday to Friday from 2.00am to 6.00am with a great blend of topical conversation, calls, music and humour. Big George says:"Be warned, once you've had a taste, your duvet won't get a look-in!"

Big George's career has seen him as a session musician, record producer, songwriter, broadcaster and freelance journalist.

He even wrote the theme tune to Have I Got News for You and arranged, produced and recorded the Handbags and Gladrags theme to The Office!

David Robey, BBC London 94.9 Editor, said: "Big George is a larger-than-life, award-winning radio presenter who is London through and through, so he will fit into our line-up of great London personalities such as Vanessa Feltz, Danny Baker, Jono Coleman, Robert Elms and Eddie Nestor."

1Xtra's Charlene White takes the hot seat, setting London's late night agenda through the early hours of Sunday morning from 2.00am to 6.00am. Being born and mainly bred in London, Charlene's excited about the new show and said: "I've spent many a night out in the capital – it's a vibrant place to be once the sun has gone down.

"There's nothing like sitting in a late night caf̩ talking to Londoners, who by the end of the night become your friends. So for me, doing the show is a continuation of that РI can't wait!. Charlene is a new talent, with a very mature head on her young shoulders. She's passionate, knowledgeable and loves talking to people, the ideal combination for BBC London 94.9FM," said Robey.
