Former BBC boss John Birt has got married – and according to reports he has done so on a budget of just 150 pounds. He got married to Eithne Wallis at Islington register office in North London in front of just two witnesses.
The report in the Daily Mail points out that Birt earned a reputation of the BBC as a cost-cutter, and it seems he is still keen to save money where possible.
