Emap management changes

Emap Radio have announced a number of changes to the management of their enlarged Big City Network. Steve King has been promoted to Programme Director of the whole network, whilst Viking & Magic 1161 MD Mike Bawden becomes Big City Commercial Content Director.

Steve King, currently Programme Director for Big City England, will take up the position with immediate effect. He will be responsible for all brand strategy and programme content including FM, AM and digital output across Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In addition to his role in Hull, Mike Bawden will be working closely with Iain Clasper, Big City's Commercial Director, to provide creative solutions for National Clients and to develop stronger content for Big City across mobile and the internet.

His priorities will be to lead the S&P Forum; to join the Big City Web development team with a brief to develop greater "stickiness" in content and more commercial opportunities and to develop a mobile and text strategy for the Network.

Travis Baxter, Managing Director Big City Network, said: "We welcome Mike to this new role which is designed to reinforce our investment in faster growing areas of our business."

The changes come in the wake of the restructuring to the Big City Network, after Emap's merger with SRH added a portfolio of stations including Clyde in Glasgow and Forth in Edinburgh.
