Tom Hunter joins Original 106

Former Emap boss Tom Hunter has been appointed as managing director of the new Bristol station, Original 106. Tom will head the team at CanWest's second UK radio station, leaving behind Palm FM in Torbay, the station he helped launch just eight months ago.

Prior to launching Palm FM in May 2006, Tom held management positions at Key 103 in Manchester and Radio City 96.7 in Liverpool. He also launched Fox FM in 1989 and started his career at Capital Radio.

Original 106 will commence broadcasting in the summer and is 95% owned by CanWest MediaWorks UK Ltd, and 5% by Seven Broadcast Ltd.
