Dene dumps Magic for Smooth

Long-time London jock Graham Dene is leaving Emap station Magic 105.4 and joining GMG Radio's soon to be re-launched Smooth Radio. Graham will host breakfast on the new station. Previously he spent a decade on Capital Breakfast and six years at Virgin.

He also hosted breakfast on Magic 105.4 before Neil Fox took over. He will see out his contract at Magic on Drivetime before joining Smooth Radio.

Magic wish Graham all the best with his new move, with MD Andria Vidler saying: "Graham has been part of the Magic family for over 9 years and we'd like to thank him for his part in establishing Magic as a dominant top three player in the London marketplace. We wish him all the best for his future.”

Graham is happy to get back to breakfast in London: "I’ve had a wonderful time at Magic and I would like to thank everyone at the station but Smooth Radio has offered me a great opportunity to rekindle my relationship with London’s breakfast audience which I can’t turn down."

Newly-appointed PC at Smooth Radio Gavin McCoy: "Graham’s a heritage presenter who’s in-tune with what Londoners in this market want to hear. We’re looking forward to returning him to the breakfast airwaves where he belongs."

Smooth Radio will launch in London and across the country on March 26th.
