Everything up at Virgin Radio

SMG station Virgin Radio has seen an increase audience. Nationally, weekly reach is up by 1 per cent, whilst in London, reach grew by 3.9 per cent and listening hours by 8.3 per cent, boosting Virgin Radio’s share of the London market to 3.6 per cent.

London-based listeners to the high profile Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show increased to over 550,000 (+6.2 per cent) with his national audience showing a 5.7 per cent increase to 1,129,000 — the best audience growth recorded by Christian since taking over the breakfast show hot seat in January 2006.

Virgin Radio Classic Rock, the group’s largest digital-only station, grew its audience by 16 per cent to 188,000 while listening hours increased by over 33 per cent year on year.
