Phoenix finds new studio base

Community Radio station Phoenix FM has exchanged contracts on their new home in Brentwood. The dedicated team will now spend the next five weeks converting an old unit in the Baytree Centre into a suite of studios and offices.

The station aims to launch on March 23rd on 98FM, after being granted a licence from Ofcom last year.

Paul Golder, chairman of Phoenix FM, told RadioToday.co.uk: "We were after quality premises in either of the towns we'll be broadcasting to — Brentwood and Billericay. Brentwood's Baytree Centre offers newly built studio space just off the town's High Street — perfect for guests, presenters and the rest of the Phoenix FM team. We picked up the keys at the weekend and are now working flat out to get the place ready for Brentwood and Billericay's first full-time radio station to start in the Baytree Centre next month."
