Group role for Kerrang! boss

Kerrang! 105.2 managing director Adrian Serle has been appointed as Radio Sales Director for Emap Advertising. In this newly created role, Adrian will be reporting to Karen Stacey, Broadcast Sales Director. He will manage all aspects of radio sales and drive Emap Advertising’s commercial strategy.

Adrian began his career at Emap as Commercial Director of Hallam FM and Magic, before moving over to Kerrang! in 2004, shortly after its launch. Under his leadership, Kerrang!’s national audience grew by 34% to 1.4 million adults and scooped 24 industry awards, including 4 Gold Sony’s last year, including Best Station. Adrian’s radio career spans 12 years, starting at GWR in Bristol, before joining media independent Radio Works, as Media Director.

Further to Bruce Daisley’s appointment last month to Head of Interactive Sales from Head of Agency Sales (Radio), the role of Radio Sales Director has been newly created as the first development within the broadcast team.

Karen Stacey, Broadcast Sales Director of Emap Advertising: “I’m delighted that Adrian is taking on this role at Emap Advertising. His experience speaks for itself. Understanding what clients want from advertising partners and how to re-engage our agency customers with the radio medium will be high on his list of priorities. Adrian has the drive and enthusiasm to ensure that Emap Advertising sits at the heart of the radio renaissance.”

Adrian said “I am thrilled to be joining what is already a brilliant team, with so many top quality people. The radio industry is a really stimulating place to be right now, and with so much opportunity, and with so many premier league brands, EMAP is right in the thick of it. Being in a position to make a difference, and build on what we have is truly exciting.”
