Findlay starts new company

The chairman of Virgin Radio's owner SMG has started a new media company with his son. Richard Findlay, well known for managing Scottish Radio Holdings will run New Wave Media with son Adam Findlay, who was previously in charge of Radio Forth and Northsound.

The news, reported in the Scotsman today, suggests the new father and son team are just days away from buying a radio station in Scotland to kick-start their new media empire. Adam told the newspaper: "New Wave Media is an ambitious company run by two ambitious people. As to what size it grows to depends on opportunities. This is not a short-term project."

According to radio rumours, the station in question is Wave 102 in Dundee – currently owned by UTV Radio.
