Mr Manchester back on air

Anthony Wilson will be back on the radio this weekend – for the first time since revealing he was battling kidney cancer. His Talk of The Town show on BBC Radio Manchester's not been on air since the news was revealed in December. The former Factory Records boss will host the programme on Easter Saturday from his home in the city.

Radio Manchester boss John Ryan told the Manchester Evening News, "I'm delighted that Tony is on the road to the recovery, it's been a loss not having him around. He seems to be coming out of this with the usual Wilson spirit and it will be great to have him back for this one-off show on Saturday – and hopefully we'll be looking to see him make a full return in May.

"I spoke to him this week to see if he'd be up for doing the show on Saturday, doing his usual thing as well as talking about his experience and he was delighted to be asked – and itching to get back for his shows full time as soon as he can.

John continued, "Tony loves being on the air, and, provided he feels healthy enough, it's great news for us and great news for Manchester."
