Radio Rumours: Wave 102

Scotland on Sunday is once again speculating that UTV station Wave 102 will be bought by former Scottish Radio Holdings boss Richard Findlay. Richard, along with his son Adam Findlay, a former boss at Radio Forth and Northsound, set up New Wave Media with the aim of buying radio and media assets.

The newspaper are reporting that talks have been resurrected, but there is no certainty that a deal will happen. Adam Findlay has apparently confirmed talks are underway but a deal was weeks away from being signed.

But, according to AllMediaScotland, a deal for Wave 102 is set to be signed in 7 days time. The media website also suggests that New Wave Media are considering making an offer for Kingdom FM.

Richard Findlay is currently chairman of Virgin Radio owner SMG.
