Time FM DJ goes non-stop

Mike Russell, mid-morning presenter at Time FM in Berkshire is just one week away from hosting what they hope will be the longest continuous radio broadcast by a single presenter. Mike aims to go five days without sleep to complete the task, despite being advised not to by doctors.

The event starts on Monday morning, 14th May, and should last until Friday afternoon. It's all in aid of a local charity, Berkshire Give a Child a Chance.

Previous presenters to hold such records includes Radio 1's Simon Mayo and Metro Radio's Brian Moore in his previous life at Rock FM. More recently, Vember from Rhodes Music Radio completed over 125 hours, but has yet to have the event approved by Guinness.

The record is currently held by Stefano Venneri of Radio BBSI in Alessandria, Italy, who managed 125 hours on-air.

Time FM is currently asking for a practicing or retired doctor or nurse to help them during the record attempt.
