New Digital Director at Virgin

Andy Grumbridge has been confirmed as the new Director of Digital Media for Virgin Radio. He joins from Channel 4, where he was Managing Director of Digital Content. He takes over from James Cridland who left last week to join the BBC and will be responsible for a team of 13.

Major focuses for Grumbridge will be the development, growth and monetisation of the station’s online presence. Virgin Radio is at the forefront of multi-platform radio, available on any DAB Digital Radio, via Sky Digital, Freeview and the cable TV networks and via WorldSpace.

"Virgin Radio has always been at the forefront of innovation in digital media with a heritage of bringing exciting music based content to new growth platforms" said Paul Jackson, Chief Executive of Virgin Radio. "Andy has a proven track record in this field and is well placed to continue our strong pedigree in this key area of our business."
