Xfm launch date announced

The launch date for Xfm South Wales has been set for Thursday 29th November 2007 at 12pm. The new GCap Media station will broadcast from the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff, on 106.8 and 107.3 FM.

GCap won the licence less than six months ago in May 2007 and has already been active around South Wales by sponsoring a number of events, including Festival24, previously covered by sister station Red Dragon FM.

Xfm’s managing director Nick Davidson said ‘Now we have the launch date in place we are working full steam behind the scenes to give the listeners of South Wales a fantastic launch. This will be followed up within days by one of the biggest music events the area has ever seen — Winter Wonderland. Announcements on our exciting DJ line-up that will get our listeners raring to tune in are just around the corner’.

Xfm’s regional sales director Dominic Barker said ‘This is a really exciting time for the Xfm network and now that we've got a launch date for the new station we are working with both our programming team and our clients to develop a range of innovative sponsorship and promotional opportunities that will create real synergy between the Xfm South Wales brand and our clients objectives, both nationally and locally.’
