The deadline to apply to Ofcom for an RSL license to cover the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan for 2008 has now passed. Ofcom received a total of 71 applications, 16 of those coming from stations who would like to broadcast to the Bradford area.
Applications were also received for stations in Blackburn, Bolton, Bristol, Burton-on-Trent, Cardiff, Dudley, Dundee, Edinburugh, Glasgow, Halifax, Harrow, Hendon, Huddersfield, Keighley, Leeds, Leicester, London, Luton, Manchester, Middlesborough, Oldham, Peterborough, Preston, Reading, Sheffield, Slough, Sutton, Thornton Heath and Walsall.
Ofcom will decide in early 2008 which of the 71 applicants are successful.
