GMG have appointed talkSPORT's Michael McIntyre as their new regional sales director. McIntyre will oversee a team of 15 staff operating from four locations across the country.
GMG Radio’s regional sales house is responsible for servicing agencies outside London with campaigns on all 12 of its Smooth, Real, Century and Rock Radio stations. The group’s portfolio of stations currently attracts a total of 4.8 million listeners to tune in for a total of 48 million hours each week.
McIntyre spent almost eight years at The Wireless Group’s Impact Radio Sales, eventually becoming regional sales manager before taking up a role at talkSPORT as regional sales director.
GMG Radio director of sales Julian Carter said: “We’ve undergone rapid expansion and we have some of the strongest regional brands in UK radio. Michael will be working together with Helen Walledge to ensure that we deliver client needs and results and maximise future revenue potential in the regional market place.”
