New high for Dearne FM

Barnsley's Dearne FM is celebrating its highest ever reach in the latest figures. Elsewhere in the Lincs FM group there were steady increases in hours across most areas.

Dearne's 17.1 percent market share is the best it has been since Q1/05 and the 763,000 total hours are the second highest ever recorded for the station. It now has 73,000 listeners per week – the most since the station's launch almost 5 years ago.
Neighbour Rother FM received its third set of RAJARs today and will be pleased with an increase of 3,000 on the total reach, giving the station 37,000 listeners a week now.
A good increase in hours at Wakefield's Ridings FM: the total have shot up from 336,000 in Q3/07 to 472,000 in Q4/07. The average of 12 hours a week per listener is their best since Q3/05. All this leads to them taking much more market share than last quarter (8.4 percent, compared with 5.8 in Q3/07).
There's a mixed story for Trax FM which is down across the board compared with the previous quarter, but made good increases year on year – including adding 22,000 listeners per week in the last 12 months (88,000 to 110,000 total reach).

Fosseway Radio's hours and share made good increases despite not much change in reach; Oak FM added 5,000 listeners year on year and also increased its market share by more than 2 percentage points in 12 months – from 7.7 to 9.9; and flagship station Lincs FM (figures also include Compass FM and Rutland Radio) saw a slight drop compared with the previous quarter, but made good increases year on year – including adding 21,000 to the reach to give a new total of 342,000 listeners per week.

Please note: Any figures compared year-on-year are subject to further investigation due to the introduction of a new survey by RAJAR from June '07.
