Georgie Russell has been appointed political correspondent for IRN, replacing Peter Murphy who recently retired.
Georgie joins IRN and ITN’s multimedia division ITN On from GCap where she was a UK News Reporter on Classic FM and group-wide for GCap stations.
Prior to working at Classic FM she presented news bulletins for both Southern FM and Kick FM. At Southern, she covered the 2005 General Election and the Royal Wedding in Windsor.
Jon Godel, editor of ITN On and IRN, said: “We’re excited to have Georgie on board. As the political correspondent for over 250 commercial radio stations and multiple online and mobile outlets Georgie will become a very familiar voice on the media landscape.”
Georgie said: "I am absolutely thrilled about joining ITN On. There are some really exciting political events on the horizon, not to mention the next General Election, and I am very much looking forward to covering them for ITN On's radio and online clients."
