Virgin Radio are to launch a new division to provide branded audio to clients. The move pushes Virgin into competition with production companies who provide similar services.
The Virgin Radio Audio Business division has been created to exploit the growing demand for branded content. It will offer clients a production service for unique download and podcast audio for websites and portals, as well as tailored audio streams for retail and travel networks.
The division will be headed up by the newly appointed Paul Sylvester, who joins Virgin from Global Radio, where he was Content Manager. He will report to Virgin Radio’s Programming and Marketing Director, David Lloyd.
“Radio people know better than anyone how to produce and use audio material to best effect so we will capitalise on our wealth of skills and experience in this field to diversify and open up a new revenue stream,” said Lloyd.
