Student station goes digital

Cardiff's student station Xpress Radio is getting ready to go digital from March 1st after securing space on the Cardiff and Newport DAB multiplex.

"The decision to broadcast on digital" station manager Richard Collins told RadioToday.co.uk; "will push the boundaries of student radio and put Cardiff University on the media map."
Xpress Radio was set up in 1994 and plays a wide range of music whilstincorporating Welsh language shows into the schedule catering for the local community. The digital space will enable the station to reach 840, 000 people.
