Radio 3 presenter Andy Kershaw has been released from prision after 44 days. He was jailed for breaking a restraining order involving his ex-partner on January 15th.
Police confirmed to bbc.co.uk that he had been released on Friday morning, serving half of his three month sentence.
Kershaw worked as a DJ on BBC Radio 1 from 1985 till 2000 and has most recently been hosting a world music show on Radio 3. He started his broadcasting career with Radio Aire in Leeds.
