More football for Newcastle

BBC Radio Newcastle has signed a new three-year commentary deal with Newcastle United to continue offering full match commentaries of all games until the end of the 2010/11 season.

Radio Newcastle commentator Mick Lowes and former Newcastle United defender John Anderson have covered Newcastle games for over two decades and under the new deal will continue to cover home and away games with the Magpies.

Mick said: "I think the new deal is just the latest example of Radio Newcastle's commitment to local football. As we all know, the sport is the lifeblood of the North East and it's a pleasure and a delight to be able to bring 90-minutes commentary to the most committed and knowledgeable set of supporters in the country."

Radio Newcastle managing editor Andrew Robson added: "We're delighted to continue the relationship with Newcastle United."
