Bauer extends local job site

Bauer Radio is launching a station-branded recruitment service at two more north west radio stations. Rock FM in Preston and Radio City in Liverpool will follow Key 103's lead in Manchester to offer online classifieds and jobs, powered by Bauer's own Workmoose service.

The two new services will go live on April 28th, supported by a £600,000 marketing campaign.
Jonathan Turpin, digital director, Bauer Radio, formerly chief executive of fish4, was appointed in April last year with the specific remit of launching new radio-backed web businesses to create new revenue streams by leveraging radio stations’ unique relationships with their local audiences.
He said: “Two of the underlying characteristics of local radio are its ability to entertain whilst at the same time being useful on a local level. Creating the recruitment websites builds on local radio’s unique audience relationships. The radio brands give instant cut through and credibility to established audiences, whilst the combination of radio and online allows recruiters to benefit from a highly targeted, cost effective service that totally challenges traditional recruitment advertising models.”
He said that the supporting marketing campaigns would target both active and passive jobseekers: “The sustained, high profile on-air, online and outdoor promotions accompanying the sites’ expansion will target active jobseekers as well as those who are interested in a new job but who are not actively seeking a new position. To be able to hear about new opportunities on Key 103, Radio City and Rock FM whilst driving to and from work and to see thought-provoking advertising campaigns around town is a compelling proposition.”
