Oak FM in Hinckley, formerly known as Fosseway Radio, and Oak FM in Loughborough are both moving out of their respective studio locations to a new shared building in Coalville. This move will effectively merge the two stations into one, albeit with separate breakfast programmes and news.
The Oak stations are a couple of the smallest in the UK, with an MCA of 80,499 in Loughborough and 59,809 in Hinckley. Oak FM Loughborough will retain its commitment to a three hour weekly programme for the Asian community.
In approving the move, Ofcom said regionalisation would not be detrimental to the character of the stations’ services.
Coalville is 10 miles from Loughborough and 15 miles from Hinckley. See our map below for more details.
