Radcliffe wins personality award

BBC Radio 2 evening host Mark Radcliffe made a last minute appearance at the How Do Awards Dinner in Manchester on Thursday night to be presented with the Personality Award.
Xfm beat four other north west stations in the Best Radio Station category.

Radcliffe, once a presenter on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, said he was surprised he was picking up the personality award as he doesn't consider himself to have one (a personality). He arrived late because his national BBC Radio 2 programme finished at 10pm on the other side of town, co-hosted by Stuart Maconie.
He thanked his dad for getting him in to the media and radio industry, and wished his brother Joe Radcliffe all the best with the launch of 106.1 Rock Radio on May 5th, of which Joe is station director.
In the Best Radio Station category, Xfm Manchester stole the glory from BBC Radio Merseyside, Century Radio, Key 103 and 97.4 Rock FM.
RadioToday.co.uk was nominated for the Best Website Award, but missed out on the title to the Lancashire Evening Post.
