Ashbourne gets its own

High Peak Radio is extending their coverage of Derbyshire with the launch of Ashbourne Radio, a dedicated service broadcasting on 96.7FM.
The new station launched at 10am bank holiday Monday, with station manager Steve Jenner playing the first song – Twist and Shout by The Beatles. He was then joined by singer Roy Wood for an extensive interview about his musical career.

High Peak Radio gained permission from Ofcom to extend their coverage area to include Ashbourne, Dovedale and the Staffordshire borders and decided to launch a separately branded service.
Boss Steve Jenner will host the breakfast show each weekday from 7am till midday followed by Helen Mason on afternoons and John Dolby on drivetime. Former Beacon Radio and Oak FM jock John Haynes will present the evening show.
