Virgin Radio continues to lead the industry with over 40 per cent of listening to the national service over digital platforms, compared to an average of 18 per cent for the rest of commercial radio.
The network’s digital-only stations have also experienced a steep increase in both listening and reach. Virgin Radio Classic Rock has gained a year on year increase of nearly 50 per cent in reach, adding 76,000 listeners. Virgin Radio Xtreme is also up 57 per cent year on year in hours and 16 per cent in reach.
However total listening to Virgin Radio dropped by nearly 600,000 hours to 14.45 million, giving the brand a UK market share of 1.4 per cent.
