Dave Ward and Umberto reunited

Manchester duo Dave Ward and Umberto will be back behind the mic together this summer.
The pair, who became a popular double-act on Piccadilly 1152 in the 1990s, will be starting a new weekend breakfast show on Century Radio.

The pair first broadcast together in 1995 and hosted weekend breakfast for over four years. Umberto, who was previously Century’s late-night phone-in host, said: “Dave and I just laugh when we’re together, he’s a great mate and we’ve stayed in touch over the years so it will be fantastic to be back in the studio with him.”
Ward, who joined Piccadilly Radio in 1979 and currently hosts the Magic 1152 weekend breakfast show, added: “Doing what I do, I feel like I’ve never done a day’s work in 29 years. Radio is just fun and being back with Umberto will make it even more fun than usual.”
Andy Carter, managing director of Century Radio, said: “Bringing these two local legends back together on the north-west airwaves is great news for Century. They each have lots of loyal listeners and we’re sure that the show will attract plenty of new fans.”
Umberto will be taking the reins on the show from this Saturday between 6-10am, with Dave Ward joining him in early August.
