New radio talent at FM107.9

FM107.9's weeks of searching have come to an end ‐ the station's Radiostar 2008 has been named as Ali Marchant from Birmingham.

At the beginning of July, the station held five hours of auditions at the Oxford United Open Day in the quest for this year's Radiostar. Ali has won a short‐term contract with the station to present an as‐yet undecided show.
Ali beat off stiff competition from four other finalists, Keri‐Anne Wheatley, Nell Wimpenny, Mark Anthony Bradshaw and Paul Green.
He follows last year's joint winners Adam Inker and Keith Thomson, who both now work for the station full time.
FM107.9 Programme Director Sue Carter said: "All five finalists have been great entertainment but Ali stood out from the rest as a new talent."
