Ex-Mercia jock joins BBC local

Former Mercia FM breakfast presenter John Dalziel is returning to his roots at BBC Coventry and Warwickshire this Bank Holiday Monday.

He will host the drivetime show, his first on the local airwaves after leaving Mercia FM three months ago.

A spokesman for the BBC told the Coventry Telegraph: "John is going to be presenting the Drivetime show on Monday as a one-off.

"We are really pleased that we have such a good local talent."

John left Mercia after allegations of using a fake caller for a competition when technical problems prevented genuine listener messages reaching the studio.
