KMFM Thanet licence available

Ofcom is inviting anyone interested in applying for the licence currently held by KMFM Thanet to submit a declaration of intent before 3pm on September 2nd 2008.

The current licence is due to expire in January 2010, and an application fee of £5,000 will be payable for those planning to challenge the licence. A declaration of intent must also be accompanied by payment of a deposit of £20,000.
If the only declaration of intent submitted is from the existing licensee, Ofcom will then invite KMFM to reapply for the licence. If a declaration of intent is received from any party in addition to, or rather than, the existing licensee, they will proceed to re-advertise the licence.
If no declaration of intent is received from any party, the licence will not be re-advertised.
