Van Outen quits Capital

As reported last week by Radio Today, Denise Van Outen has now quit the Capital 95.8 breakfast show.

It means presenter Johnny Vaughan is looking to recruit his fourth co-presenter in as many years.

The former Big breakfast presenter had only been on air for six months, when she asked to be released from her twelve month contract.

GCap Media released a statement on Van Outen's departure, saying: "Denise asked for a meeting and made it clear to her new bosses that she wasn't able to handle the early starts as they were impacting on her personal life and her health."

"It takes a special kind of person to consistently rise early and give the public the level of entertainment they expect each morning. Denise requested the opportunity to break her contract immediately and we obliged."
