Podcast company Wippit closes

Wippit Media, the music and podcast company that brought us Danny Baker's All Day Breakfast Show has ceased trading after eight years in business.

Wippit teamed up with Danny Baker in March 2007 to offer a paid-for podcast featuring special guests including Peter Kay. It cost £2 a week (from September) and was cited at the future of radio at the 2007 Radio Festival in Cambridge.

However, the two [link=http://www.radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.2832.3]parted company[/link] in December of the same year due to "a breakdown in contract negotiations," a Wippit spokesperson told RadioToday.co.uk

The company offered a range of podcasts and was said to be one of the first legal UK online music and media services.
