Steve Penk buys The Revolution

After a fortnight of speculation, it has been announced that presenter Steve Penk has bought Oldham based station 96.2 The Revolution.
The station flipped formats two weeks ago without explanation. The former Key 103 and Virgin Radio presenter said: "I have big plans for this station."

Penk is well known in the Manchester area for repeated stints on Key 103, as well as presenting TV shows such as television programme TV's Naughtiest Blunders. He had been the breakfast presenter on Oxford's GCap station Fox FM until Spring of this year, when he unexpectedly left.
On purchasing the station, Penk said: “For some time I’ve been looking at various possible acquisitions but was very keen to find something in the two UK markets I know best, the North West and the South East.
“The Revolution fits the brief perfectly and I have big plans for the radio station. The North West is a fantastic market currently dominated by the huge radio groups and the BBC.”
On air, the station is carrying imaging that states the new Revolution will launch on Monday 15th September.
