Digital listening continues to rise

Three of the BBC's national digital services posted best ever audiences in today's RAJAR results.
1Xtra increased its reach to 600,000, while BBC7, now BBC Radio 7, attracted 887,000 listeners. BBC 6 Music added 300,000 hours and Five Live Sports Extra increased its reach to 776,000.

Digital listening continues to grow in commercial radio with 19.4 per cent of adults listening to a commercial service every week via a digital platform – higher than the average for digital listening across all radio of 18.7 per cent.
Bauer's Q Radio broke through the million hours barrier. reporting 330,000 listeners. Planet Rock went from strength to strength. attracting 633,000 listeners and being just 17,000 hours shy of 5 million. NME Radio's first RAJAR reported 215,000 listeners, while The Hit's climbed to 1.59 million listeners.
The latest figures also reveal that nearly 29 percent of homes – nearly 3 in 10 – now own a DAB radio, and nearly 13 per cent of people listening to radio on their mobile phone.
