Radio 1 presenters to host SRAs

BBC Radio 1 presenters Fearne Cotton and Scott Mills have been confirmed as the host of the Student Radio Awards 2008, taking place at the Indigo2 in London on November 6th.

The student radio awards have been responsible for launching the careers of many young voices in radio today including Marsha Shandur at XFM London, Greg James from BBC Radio 1 and Philippa TJ at BBC 6 Music.

Another Radio 1 presenter, Huw Stephens, was the chair of the awards. Student Radio Association events officer Kate Pringle said: "Huw felt like the natural choice for the Chair of the Student Radio Awards because he embodies what student radio is all about.

"He brings new and underexposed artists to a wider audience but also isn't afraid to be alternative and original in his broadcasting style."

This years awards are further supported by PPL.
