The local FM commercial radio licence for Cambridge, currently held by Cambridge Radio, is up for renewal.
Cambridge Radio is currently operating the station as Star Radio, and is owned by UKRD. The current licence is due to expire in 2010.
Ofcom proposes to grant a further licence for this area, for a period from the expiry date of the current licence to 31 December 2015. The closing-date for the receipt of declarations of intent from any prospective licence applicants, including the current licence holder, is 3.00pm on Monday 1 December 2008.
If the only applicant is from the current licence holder, UKRD will benefit from a "Fast Track" licence renewal procedure.
