Hertfordshire’s Hertbeat FM is following the adventures of presenter Dawn Easby as she volunteers her services in Mexico for six weeks.
Dawn is currently working with Hertfordshire charity support organisation Global Vision International on a marine conservation project in Mexico. Whilst there Hertbeat’s listeners are now able to track her experience online with her blog, audio diary and photo gallery. Much of this is then talked about or played out on the station’s breakfast show.
Breakfast presenter and programme controller Steve Folland: “It’s been amazing – her attempts to learn Spanish, her mosquito bites, snake encounters, working with local children, scuba diving and struggling to wash with just one bucket of rain water a day. Great fun! We even had her phone up Hertbeat Breakfast and do a travel bulletin from for the beach rush hour – Watch out for those falling coconuts!”
